In the coming weeks, we will activate a new network cache for some of the most popular channels on anaconda.org!
This transition will begin with the anaconda.org/anaconda channel when we conduct a two hour test on Tuesday, September 26 from 18:30 to 20:30 UTC (1:30 to 3:30 PM CDT).
We will schedule the go-live for the anaconda channel for later in the week after reviewing the data we collect during the trial.
The following channels will be migrated to the new cache in roughly this order:
We will announce these migrations as scheduled maintenance here, too.
The next set of channels to be migrated will be coordinated with the respective projects and communities, pending the successful migration of the aforementioned channels. These channels are:
Two notable omissions are conda-forge and bioconda. These channels make use of a feature called repodata hotfix patching, and can not be migrated to the new cache yet.
